Black Swan Theory

Elysia Smith

Proof is too heavy to hold.

Human legs quit themselves

and sit under pressure--

so we grow longer arms. We

sprout itching feathers. We stretch

tip to tip to move forward. However,

what is true today may not

be true tomorrow. The existence

of something does not predetermine

the existence of a specific future.

Let this be your thesis in times

of need, birds can’t throw salt

over their shoulders--everything’s

different from the sky anyway.
